The tires ordered from Engle Motors in Kansas
City arrived three days after we ordered them. The UPS
driver knocked on the RV door about 7:30 p.m. and said he was looking
for Paul Glaves. We told him he had found him! He had asked
at the first RV if they knew Paul Glaves. They said "no."
So then he asked who had motorcycles. They said "right down
there." We expected him to leave them on the office porch but he
did better than that. So, a few days later Paul declared Voni's tires dead and mounted the new set of Metzeler Tourances. |
On February 24 Mike Cornett rode over from
San Antonio for a visit. The folks in the RV park couldn't quite
figure out how we kept getting visitors. |
We rode over to the Antelope Lodge where Mike
checked in for the night. |
Then we went to dinner at the Reata, a well
known restaurant in Alpine which specializes in great steaks. |
That evening we attended the Cowboy Poetry
Gathering in Alpine, at Sul Ross State University. There was some
poetry recitation, but most of the entertainment was music. We
had a great time. |
The next morning, after a good breakfast at
the Holland Hotel restaurant, Mike headed back to San Antonio. We
went back to La Vista. |
